Diesel engine 3А-6D49

These CHN26/26 engines are available as V-engines (8, 12 and 16 cylinders). Depending on the crankshaft speed (750 ... 1,100 rpm), number of cylinders and boost in terms of average effective pressure, the engines cover a power range of 588 to 4,412 kW.

The main advantage of engines produced by Kolomna Plant is their reliability and high maintainability, which is due to the modular principle of design of diesels, suspended crankshaft and cylinder-piston set, which allows to make current and overhaul repairs on the site of the CCGT installation. An important advantage is the fuel efficiency and lower price of the diesel generator set compared to its imported counterparts, as well as spare parts, used domestic oils and provided services.

The 5D49 is a diesel engine, ideal for diesel locomotives of various series and modifications. The D49 type unit was first installed on the 2TE116, had 12 cylinders and had a power of 2000 kW. In the process of operation some drawbacks were revealed, which were the reason for suspension of their installation and production.

Today, the D49 is a group of diesels, where each individual model, first of all, is characterized by its own, distinctive number of cylinders:

6D49 - configuration with eight cylinders, designed for installation on the 1200 hp shunting locomotive TGM6;

2D49 - with 12 cylinders, designed for TEM7 series shunting locomotives, mainline 2TE25K, power train PE6, upgraded M62 diesel locomotive;

The 5D49 is a 16-cylinder diesel engine, ideal for mainline diesel locomotives of various types, light warships. It is divided into subtypes, depending on the operating power and type of equipment served (1A-, 18-, 2A-5D49, 10D49);

1D49 - for twenty cylinders with 6000 hp. Designed for experimental diesel locomotives.
